Dragon Mask gives any creature you control the ability to loot when it deals combat damage to a player — repeatable card selection stapled to your attackers for two mana. At that cost and with that upside, it earns a slot in any deck that wants to turn combat into card advantage.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t
| Format | Verdict |
|---|---|
| commander | legal |
| legacy | legal |
| modern | not legal |
| pioneer | not legal |
| standard | not legal |
| vintage | legal |
| pauper | not legal |
| oathbreaker | legal |
Dragon Mask lives almost entirely in Commander, where multiplayer tables mean more combat steps, more players to connect against, and more payoff for a loot trigger that scales with your board. Legacy and Vintage are legal homes on paper, but neither format has room for a two-mana artifact that does nothing the turn it enters and asks you to connect with creatures — too slow, too fragile. Commander is where Dragon Mask does real work, particularly in aggro or voltron strategies that already plan to swing wide and want to convert damage into fresh cards.

Price Context
Current price
$0.27 bulk tier
At $0.27, Dragon Mask is deep bulk — the kind of card you pick out of a dollar box without thinking twice. Bulk artifacts with narrow appeal don't spike, so don't expect movement; just grab it if the deck wants it.
