Doom Cannon converts expendable creatures into direct damage — pay one mana, sacrifice a non-token, deal damage equal to that creature's power to any target. The setup cost is real: six mana to cast, another to fire, and you're burning your own board, so it belongs only in decks that actively want to sacrifice creatures or have a reliable way to reload.

Doom Cannon is a Commander card almost exclusively — the six-mana cost and slow activation are liabilities everywhere else, but in a 40-life multiplayer game with redundant sacrifice synergies, it can function as reach or a finisher. In Legacy and Vintage it's legal but effectively unplayable; those formats move too fast for a six-mana artifact that asks you to sacrifice creatures one at a time. Commander is the only home where Doom Cannon finds a real role, specifically in sacrifice-focused or token-flooding strategies that need a way to convert board presence into damage across multiple opponents.

Price Context
Current price
$0.30 bulk tier
At $0.30, Doom Cannon is deep bulk — easy to pick up without a second thought. It won't appreciate; it's too narrow and too slow to ever spike, but the floor is already the floor.
