Divine Verdict

In Commander, Divine Verdict competes against a deep bench of unconditional removal, and four mana for a situational kill spell is a hard sell when Swords to Plowshares and Path to Exile exist in the same color. Pauper is where Divine Verdict sees its most legitimate play — the card pool is shallow enough that the combat restriction matters less, and instant-speed removal at common is genuinely scarce. In Legacy, Modern, and Pioneer, it's outclassed on rate and sits firmly in unplayed territory. Oathbreaker shares Commander's problem: the format moves fast enough that waiting for an attack step to answer a threat is often too late.
