Disciple of Griselbrand is a Commander card through and through — the format's singleton rule and multiplayer life totals give it the time and redundancy to matter, and sacrifice-based combos are everywhere in the format. In Legacy and Vintage it's legal but competes with faster, more efficient sacrifice outlets that don't ask you to pay mana, so it essentially never appears. Modern is the same story: the three-mana slot is too expensive for what's a worse Viscera Seer in any non-life-gain shell.
