Devouring Rage card art
Devouring Rage turns a graveyard full of Spirits into a one-shot kill — exile three or more Spirits to pump a creature by that much power until end of turn, and it connects for lethal without needing any other setup. The mana cost is reasonable for what it threatens, but the card is dead in hand if the graveyard is empty, so it lives or dies on self-mill or sacrifice support.

Commander is where Devouring Rage actually belongs — Spirit tribal decks with a graveyard subtheme can routinely exile five or six Spirits for a game-ending swing. In Pauper it's legal and theoretically reachable, but the format's threat density and instant-speed interaction make resolving a combat trick for this cost unreliable without dedicated Spirit synergies. Legacy and Vintage are technically legal but offer nothing — no competitive deck wants a conditional pump spell when the format's finishers don't ask for this kind of setup. Devouring Rage is a Commander card with a Pauper footnote; everywhere else it's scenery.
