Desert Cerodon is a 6/4 with vigilance that costs six mana and has cycling — the cycling is the only reason to register it. As a vanilla beater it's unplayable in any competitive context, but the ability to trade it for a card when it's a dead draw keeps it marginally functional in desert-synergy or cycling-matters builds.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t

Desert Cerodon is legal everywhere that matters but sees meaningful play in exactly one place: Pauper cycling shells that need cheap cantrip chaff to feed graveyard or storm-count payoffs. In Commander, Desert Cerodon is a bulk slot that only belongs in dedicated cycling commanders like Gavi, Nest Warden or Anim Pakal, Thousandth Moon desert builds, and even there it's near the bottom of the list. Legacy, Modern, and Pioneer have no use for it — the card is too slow and too underpowered for any non-cycling role in those formats.

Desert Cerodon is a bulk common with no meaningful price floor — expect to find it in a commons box for pennies or as throw-in filler in a trade. There's no scenario where picking it up requires any financial deliberation.
