Dermotaxi copies any creature in a graveyard — permanently, not until end of turn — and the activation cost is just tapping two creatures you control. The catch is it enters as an artifact, not a creature, until you exile a card from your hand to crew it, which makes it fragile to artifact removal and means cards like Mirror-Mad Phantasm require an extra step before they attack.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t
| Format | Verdict |
|---|---|
| commander | legal |
| legacy | legal |
| modern | legal |
| pioneer | not legal |
| standard | not legal |
| vintage | legal |
| pauper | not legal |
| oathbreaker | legal |
Commander is where Dermotaxi does its best work, specifically in self-mill and reanimator shells that stock the graveyard fast enough to make the copy relevant. Legacy and Vintage are too fast for a three-mana artifact that needs additional setup to become a creature, and the payoff rarely matches what those formats can do with graveyard pieces at instant speed. Modern has better options for replicating graveyard creatures at lower cost. Dermotaxi is legal in Oathbreaker, where the tighter card pool makes repeatable graveyard copying more meaningful.

Price Context
Current price
$0.25 bulk tier
At $0.25, Dermotaxi is deep bulk — pick it up without a second thought if the deck wants it. That price reflects genuine niche appeal rather than broad demand, so it's unlikely to move unless a high-profile deck pushes it into the spotlight.
