Deicide
Instant
Exile target enchantment. If the exiled card is a God card, search its controller's graveyard, hand, and library for any number of cards with the same name as that card and exile them. Then that player shuffles.

Deicide exiles a God or enchantment for two mana, and if the target is a God, it hunts down every copy in the graveyard and library too — a clean answer that leaves nothing behind. Narrow by design, but when it's good, it's perfect.

In Commander, Deicide is a meta call: at most tables it's dead cardboard, but the moment someone's running Purphoros, God of the Forge or Thassa, Deep-Dwelling as their commander, it becomes the cleanest answer in white. Legacy and Vintage don't give Deicide enough targets to justify the slot over unconditional removal. Pioneer is where it has historically seen the most competitive interest, as Gods like Heliod, Sun-Crowned and Nylea, Keen-Eyed have been real threats — sideboard material at minimum. Modern is similar: niche but functional, and the library-exile clause matters against decks that can recur enchantments.

Price Context
Current price
$0.12 bulk tier
At $0.12, Deicide is pure bulk — pick it up as a one-of sideboard piece without a second thought about cost. It won't appreciate unless a God-heavy format emerges to push demand, so treat it as a throw-in, not a hold.
