Deathforge Shaman hits every opponent for 2 damage per Shaman you control when it enters, and you can multikicker it repeatedly to stack that trigger — in a Shaman-heavy red deck that's a legitimate board-state clock. The six-mana base cost and creature-type dependency keep it narrow, but inside that lane it earns its slot.

Deathforge Shaman is a Commander card through and through — the multikicker cost is only worth paying when you have mana sinks and tribal synergy to justify it, which describes exactly the kind of big-mana Shaman shell that EDH enables. In Legacy or Vintage it's unplayable; those formats don't slow down for a six-mana creature with conditional damage. Modern has better tribal payoffs at lower costs, so it won't see a second look there either. Commander is the one format where you can realistically pour twelve or more mana into a single Deathforge Shaman trigger and watch opponents' life totals crumble before the turn ends.

$0.05 bulk tier
At $0.05, Deathforge Shaman is pure bulk — you're paying for a sleeve, not a card. Demand is narrow enough that the price isn't going anywhere, so grab a copy whenever you need one without a second thought.
