Death Frenzy wipes small boards and drains life simultaneously — every creature that dies triggers a net 2-life swing, which adds up fast in token-heavy pods. Five mana is on the steep side for a conditional wipe, but the life-drain rider is what separates it from a worse Languish.

Death Frenzy is a Commander card through and through — the life-drain effect scales with the number of bodies on a multiplayer board in ways it simply never gets to in one-on-one formats, where sweeping three tokens for 6 life rarely justifies five mana. In Legacy, Modern, and Pioneer it's outclassed by cheaper, unconditional options and sees no meaningful play. Commander is where Death Frenzy earns its slot: aristocrats and drain strategies turn every creature death into a tempo-plus-life advantage, and in a four-player pod a board clear can easily net 10 or more life in a single cast.

Price Context
Current price
$0.07 bulk tier
At $0.07, Death Frenzy is deep bulk — you're paying for cardboard and postage, not the card. That price is stable by default; there's no demand pressure to push it up, and it fits comfortably into any budget build.
