Death by Dragons hands every opponent a 5/5 flying Dragon token — then gives you one too, leaving the table in a temporary ceasefire while you're the only one who planned around the chaos. Six mana for a symmetrical board flood is a real cost, but in the right shell it reads as a one-sided bomb.

Death by Dragons is a Commander card through and through — the symmetrical Dragon distribution is only interesting when there are three or four opponents to weaponize against each other. Legacy and Vintage allow it, but no competitive player is casting a six-mana sorcery that gives opponents 5/5 fliers; it's legal, not playable. Oathbreaker shares enough of Commander's multiplayer math to make it functional there as well. Outside of multiplayer formats it's dead text.

Price Context
Current price
$0.22 bulk tier
At $0.22, Death by Dragons is bulk — pick it up without thinking twice if the effect fits your list. Bulk Dragon tribal pieces don't tend to spike, so there's no urgency and no price risk in either direction.
