Daybreak Combatants pumps your whole attacking team and replaces itself — that combination on a single card is the entire appeal. Three mana for a +1/+1 anthem effect that only lasts a turn is a steep ask, and outside dedicated go-wide aggro, the effect rarely justifies the slot.
Format Analysis

Daybreak Combatants is a Pauper-tier card in the truest sense — it sees the most plausible play in that format's white weenie and token shells, where one-shot pump spells can close games on a stalled board. In Modern and Pioneer, the competition at three mana is too deep for a sorcery-speed anthem with no lasting board presence. Commander is where it struggles most: a single combat trick that doesn't generate a permanent is essentially invisible in a 40-life multiplayer game, and token commanders that might want this effect have access to far more durable options.

Price Context
Current price
$0.01 bulk tier
At $0.01, Daybreak Combatants is deep bulk — the floor of Magic card pricing. That price won't move; demand simply isn't there to push it, and supply from draft sets is plentiful.
