Dauntless Aven untaps all creatures with flying you control when it enters — in the right deck, that's a combat trick, a pseudo-vigilance engine, and a combo enabler stapled to a 2/1 flier for three mana. The ceiling is high enough to justify the slot; the floor is a mediocre body that does nothing without other fliers on board.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t

| oathbreaker | legal |
Dauntless Aven is a Commander card first and almost exclusively — the untap trigger scales with the number of fliers you control, and token-generating or go-wide flying commanders can turn it into a full-board untap on demand. In Pauper it's legal but fights for space against more efficient common creatures that don't demand a critical mass of fliers to function. Modern, Pioneer, Legacy, and Vintage all have access to it, but none of those formats give it a realistic slot — the effect is too conditional and the body too small to compete at those power levels. Oathbreaker shares Commander's multiplayer context, so the same synergy logic applies if your planeswalker and signature spell support an aerial go-wide strategy.

Price Context
Current price
$0.16 bulk tier
At $0.16, Dauntless Aven is deep bulk — the kind of card you pull from a common box rather than buy individually. The price reflects casual demand only, and there's no pressure to acquire it at any urgency; it will stay in this range unless a future Commander precon puts it in front of a much larger audience.
