Dark Triumph sacrifices one of your creatures to give another +3/+3 and trample until end of turn — instant-speed, no mana cost beyond the spell itself. It's a niche trick that rewards decks already planning to sacrifice permanents, and a dead card in everything else.

Dark Triumph is a Commander card in practice. The sacrifice-plus-pump effect is too situational for Legacy or Vintage, where interaction density is high enough that one giant trample swing rarely ends a game and faster, more consistent payoffs dominate. In Commander, it earns a slot specifically in sacrifice-matters decks: the instant speed lets it function as a combat trick or a response to removal, turning a creature that was about to die anyway into a meaningful pump. Outside of those dedicated shells it's still too narrow — a generic Voltron or go-wide deck has better options at the same mana cost.

Price Context
Current price
$0.11 bulk tier
At $0.11, Dark Triumph is deep bulk — you're not buying this for value, you're buying it because it fits a specific deck. Bulk commons and uncommons at this price point don't move much in either direction, so pick it up when you need it and don't give the price a second thought.
