Dark Inquiry card art
Dark Inquiry makes an opponent reveal their hand and discard a nonland card of your choice — clean, targeted hand disruption for two mana. It's a fine role-player in dedicated discard strategies but too narrow for general Commander tables.

Format Analysis

In Commander, Dark Inquiry is best treated as a slot in dedicated discard-matters builds rather than a generic include — forcing one opponent to discard one card rarely swings a four-player game on its own. In Pauper, it competes in a format where hand disruption is a real axis, and two mana at sorcery speed puts it behind Duress and Thoughtseize effects that cost one. Legacy and Vintage have faster, cheaper discard that makes Dark Inquiry unplayable in those formats competitively. Pioneer is the one 60-card format where it might earn a sideboard look in a dedicated discard shell, though it still loses to Thoughtseize on rate.

$0.08 bulk tier

At $0.08, Dark Inquiry is deep bulk — you're paying nearly nothing for it. That price is stable because demand is low and supply is high; don't expect movement in either direction.
