Daring Leap gives a creature +1/+1, flying, and first strike until end of turn for two mana — useful in a pinch, but combat tricks at instant speed need to pull more weight than this does. Narrow effect, low ceiling; there are almost always better ways to spend two mana.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t
| Format | Verdict |
|---|---|
| commander | legal |
| legacy | legal |
| modern | not legal |
| pioneer | not legal |
| standard | not legal |
| vintage | legal |
| pauper | legal |
| oathbreaker | legal |
Daring Leap is legal in Commander, Legacy, Vintage, Pauper, and Oathbreaker, but it sees virtually no play in any of them. In Commander, one-shot combat buffs rarely justify a slot when the effect evaporates at end of turn and does nothing without a creature already in combat. Pauper is its most plausible home — the format rewards cheap interaction — but even there, instants that grant flying and first strike without also generating card parity struggle to make cuts. Legacy and Vintage have access to far more efficient tools, so Daring Leap is invisible in both.

Price Context
Current price
$0.12 bulk tier
At $0.12, Daring Leap is deep bulk — the kind of card you find in a draft chaff pile, not a trade binder. The price accurately reflects demand: essentially none, and nothing on the horizon changes that trajectory.
