Dakmor Plague hits every opponent's creature and deals life loss scaled to how many creatures they control — at five mana it's a sweeper-adjacent spell that punishes go-wide boards without wiping your own. It's a niche card that earns its slot in specific black decks but rarely competes with dedicated board wipes in most lists.

Commander is the only format where Dakmor Plague is worth discussing. In a four-player game the symmetric targeting flips asymmetric — if one opponent has a packed board and you don't, Dakmor Plague drains them hard while barely touching your own position, which is exactly the kind of political tool black decks want. Legacy and Vintage are legal on paper but five mana for a conditional damage spell doesn't exist in those metagames; it will never see play there. Outside Commander, this card has no practical home.

Price Context
Current price
$0.31 bulk tier
At $0.31, Dakmor Plague is deep bulk — you're paying for cardboard and nothing else. That price is stable because demand is low and supply is high, so there's no reason to expect movement in either direction.
