In Commander, Cut In earns a slot in any voltron or go-wide deck where a creature's power is consistently high — Auras builds and equipment decks turn it into a Lava Spike that also pads your life total. In aggressive Pioneer and Modern white strategies, the card competes with better-statted burn and lifegain spells, so it rarely makes the cut in 60-card formats. Pauper is where Cut In sees real experimentation, since common-legal instant-speed lifegain at one mana is genuinely scarce and the floor on damage is rarely zero in creature-heavy pools. Legacy and Vintage have no realistic interest in it.
