Cunning Bandit // Azamuki, Treachery Incarnate

Commander is where Cunning Bandit // Azamuki, Treachery Incarnate does its best work — three-player boards are stocked with high-value creatures worth stealing, and the permanent theft clause can generate immediate political leverage or close games by weaponizing opponents' own finishers. In Legacy and Vintage, the three-attack requirement is a death sentence; faster formats have ended the game before Azamuki ever activates, and blue and black have far more efficient theft and tempo options at every mana cost. Modern is legal but similarly hostile — the card sees no meaningful play there. Oathbreaker is a reasonable home if the signature spell and planeswalker commander support an aggressive, attack-heavy shell.
