Crypt Feaster enters the battlefield and immediately starts growing — exiling a creature from any graveyard puts a +1/+1 counter on it, and you can repeat that on each of your turns. The cost is real though: it's a three-mana 2/2 with no evasion, so it needs a graveyard-rich table and time it often won't get in competitive pods.
Format Analysis

Commander is where Crypt Feaster does its best work — four players means four graveyards, and the card can grow into a genuine threat by mid-game in the right shell. Graveyard-matters commanders like Wilhelt, the Rotcleaver or Meren of Clan Nel Toth provide the fuel it needs while also benefiting from the incidental graveyard hate. Outside Commander, Crypt Feaster is outclassed in every competitive format: Modern and Pioneer have faster clocks and more efficient threats, and even in Pauper the body is too small to matter without the graveyard density Commander naturally provides.

Price Context
Current price
$0.08 bulk tier
At $0.08, Crypt Feaster is deep bulk — you're paying almost nothing for a card that earns its slot purely on synergy. That price is stable; there's no realistic reprint pressure or demand spike that changes the calculus here.
