Crown of the Ages moves any Aura from one creature to another for four mana and a tap — a repeatable effect that lets you reassign your best enchantments or strip an opponent's protective Aura mid-combat. The activation cost is clunky enough that it sees only niche play, but in the right shell it's a genuine threat.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t
| Format | Verdict |
|---|---|
| commander | legal |
| legacy | legal |
| modern | not legal |
| pioneer | not legal |
| standard | not legal |
| vintage | legal |
| pauper | not legal |
| oathbreaker | legal |
Crown of the Ages is legal in Commander, Legacy, Vintage, and Oathbreaker, but it's a Commander card through and through — the longer game gives you the turns needed to justify the four-mana activation. In Legacy and Vintage, the effect is too slow and too conditional to compete. Oathbreaker is the one other format where it has a plausible home, specifically in enchantment-focused lists that want to rebuy a key Aura repeatedly. Outside of dedicated Aura synergy decks, Crown of the Ages sits in the bulk bin for good reason.

Price Context
Current price
$0.61 bulk tier
At $0.61, Crown of the Ages sits firmly in bulk territory — easy to acquire, easy to cut if the meta shifts. The price reflects its narrow application, so don't expect movement unless a high-profile Aura-focused commander pushes demand.
