Cragsmasher Yeti enters the battlefield and immediately punches a creature with three or more power into the ground — giving it -X/-X until end of turn equal to the Yeti's own power, which starts at 4. That on-board removal stapled to a 4/3 body is real, but four mana for a creature that trades up once and then sits there is a tough sell outside decks that can boost its power or flicker it repeatedly.
Format Analysis

In Commander, Cragsmasher Yeti finds its home in red decks that care about Mountains — particularly those running Landfall or Snow synergies, since its power scales with snow lands in play. Pauper is where it most naturally competes: removal on a body is a premium at common, and a snow-land count that reaches even five or six makes the -X/-X relevant against most threats at that level. In Modern and Pioneer, four mana for conditional removal attached to a vanilla-statted creature is nowhere near competitive, and Cragsmasher Yeti won't see those tables. Legacy and Vintage are non-starters for the same reason, compounded by the sheer speed of those formats.

Price Context

$0.20 bulk tier
At $0.20, Cragsmasher Yeti is pure bulk — you're picking it up as a throw-in, not hunting it down. That price is stable in the way bulk commons and uncommons always are: floor pricing, no trajectory worth thinking about.
