Corpse Lunge deals damage equal to a creature in your graveyard's power to target creature or planeswalker — conditional removal that scales with your biggest dead threat. Three mana at sorcery speed is the ceiling on how seriously you can take it, and in formats with instant-speed interaction everywhere, that ceiling is low.

Corpse Lunge is a Commander card first and almost exclusively. Graveyard-matters decks — Meren of Clan Nel Toth, The Scarab God, Karador, Ghost Chief — can regularly threaten 5+ power from the yard, which makes Corpse Lunge a passable removal spell on a budget. Outside Commander, it has no competitive foothold: Legacy, Vintage, and Modern have access to Fatal Push, Dismember, and similar unconditional removal at the same or lower mana cost, and sorcery speed is a dealbreaker in those formats. Pauper is the only other format where it could technically slot in, but even there the graveyard setup cost makes cleaner commons the default choice.

$0.06 bulk tier
At $0.06, Corpse Lunge is pure bulk — buy a playset for the price of a gumball. Budget is not a reason to run it; if you're including it, the decision is purely on merit for your specific deck's graveyard density.
