Conduit of Storms // Conduit of Emrakul gives you a mana-positive attacker that transforms into a 7/4 trampler with the most punishing attack trigger in the format — adding two mana on attack is already useful, but the back face threatening a free Emrakul cast closes games on its own. Three mana for this ceiling is the deal.
Format Analysis

Commander is where Conduit of Storms // Conduit of Emrakul does its best work — the transform condition triggers off any creature attacking, not just itself, so token-wide attacks in go-wide red or Gruul builds can flip it in a single combat step. In Pauper it's legal but competes in a format where three-mana creatures need to impact the board immediately, and a 2/2 that needs time to transform rarely makes the cut. Modern and Pioneer both have faster clocks than the card can keep up with; it sees essentially no play there. Legacy and Vintage are non-starters. Stick to Commander, specifically in decks that attack in quantity — Gruul Werewolves, Tovolar, or any commander that wants free mana on the swing.
