Combat Professor

In Commander, Combat Professor is a fringe playable — life gain decks and angel tribal lists will occasionally slot it, but it rarely makes the final 99 over more efficient options. In Pauper it competes in a tight common pool where a four-mana 2/3 with a conditional lifelink ability rarely justifies a slot. Across Legacy, Modern, and Pioneer, Combat Professor sees essentially no play — the rate is simply too low for constructed formats where every slot demands maximum efficiency. Oathbreaker mirrors Commander in that niche synergy decks might find a use for it, but it remains a budget filler rather than a build-around.
