Coalition Honor Guard redirects all targeted spells and abilities aimed at your permanents onto itself as long as you control another multicolor permanent — effectively making your key pieces untouchable. The cost is four mana for a 2/4 body that dies to any removal pointed its way, but that's exactly the point.

Coalition Honor Guard is a Commander card almost exclusively — the four-mana investment is too slow for Legacy or Vintage, and Pauper's faster, more efficient threats leave it outclassed. In Commander, it earns its slot in multicolor decks where protecting a combo piece or a value engine from spot removal is worth a four-mana tax on your opponents; once you have any other multicolor permanent in play, every targeted spell has to kill Coalition Honor Guard first. The catch is that it's fragile, colorless-removal still answers it cleanly, and mass removal ignores the redirect entirely — so it's a speed bump, not a lock.

Price Context
Current price
$0.14 bulk tier
At $0.14, Coalition Honor Guard is pure bulk — you're paying for the effect, not the card. That price is unlikely to move; it's been widely printed and sees narrow enough play that demand won't push it.
