Clear the Stage removes a creature and replaces itself — 5 mana for a kill spell that draws a card when you control the bigger creature is a clean rate. It's a solid role-player in midrange Commander decks that reliably out-size opponents, not a staple you build around.

In Commander, Clear the Stage earns its slot in decks that consistently put large creatures into play — the conditional draw is easy to trigger when your commander is a 6/6 and your opponent's blocker is a 3/3. Outside Commander, the five-mana price tag makes it a liability in faster formats: Modern and Pioneer rarely give you the battlefield setup this needs, and Legacy has cheaper, unconditional answers at every turn. Oathbreaker can support it in the same way Commander does, provided the deck's planeswalker shell is also generating big bodies.

Price Context
Current price
$0.10 bulk tier
At $0.10, Clear the Stage is bulk — you're paying for a functional card, not a scarce one. Bulk rares at this price point don't appreciate unless demand spikes dramatically, so pick it up for the utility and forget the price tag.
