Cinder Marsh enters tapped and produces colorless unless you control a Swamp — a conditional that fails in any non-black or lightly-black shell. In dedicated black-red decks it functions as a dual, but there are strictly better options at every price point.
Format Analysis

| commander | legal |
| legacy | legal |
| modern | not legal |
| pioneer | not legal |
| standard | not legal |
| vintage | legal |
| pauper | not legal |
| oathbreaker | legal |
Cinder Marsh is legal in Commander, Legacy, Vintage, and Oathbreaker, but sees essentially no play in any of them. In Commander, the enter-tapped clause is already a strike against it, and the Swamp dependency makes it unreliable in anything outside a heavily black mana base. Legacy and Vintage have access to the original dual lands and fetchlands, so Cinder Marsh never makes the cut there. Oathbreaker follows the same logic as Commander — the constraint isn't worth it when painlands and check lands exist at similar or lower price points.

Price Context
Current price
$0.44 bulk tier
At $0.44, Cinder Marsh sits firmly in bulk territory. Demand is low enough that the price is unlikely to move in either direction — you're buying it because nothing cheaper fills a black-red slot, which is rarely true.
