Charmed Griffin card art
Charmed Griffin puts a 3/3 flyer on the board for four mana, then hands each opponent an enchantment from their hand — a symmetry-breaking drawback that actively arms your enemies. Unless the deck is built to exploit that gift-giving, Charmed Griffin is a liability, not an asset.

In Commander, Charmed Griffin is a trap — three opponents each getting a free enchantment off your four-mana play is a fast way to fall behind on board state and threat density. Legacy and Vintage have access to it on paper, but neither format would run a vanilla 3/3 flyer with a downside at four mana when the competition is that deep. Charmed Griffin is legally playable in Oathbreaker as well, but the same logic applies: the body doesn't justify the cost, and the drawback is worse with fewer opponents to dilute it.

Price Context

Current price

$0.28 bulk tier

At $0.28, Charmed Griffin sits firmly in bulk territory, and that price reflects its playability ceiling accurately. Don't expect movement — bulk rares with parasitic or detrimental designs don't climb without a specific combo context, and none exists here.
