Charm Peddler lets you pay W to give a creature protection from a chosen color until end of turn — a one-mana, on-demand shield that doubles as removal dodge and combat trick. Narrow enough that only dedicated white weenie or lifegain shells will want it, but in those homes it punches above its cost.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t
| Format | Verdict |

| modern | not legal |
| pioneer | not legal |
| standard | not legal |
| vintage | legal |
| pauper | legal |

In Commander, Charm Peddler is a fringe include — the effect is real, but protection from a single color is inconsistent across a four-player table where threats come in every color. Legacy and Vintage have access to it but will almost never run it; those formats move too fast for a 1/1 body that requires an activation to matter. Pauper is its best competitive home, where one-mana creatures with relevant abilities see genuine play in white weenie shells and Charm Peddler can protect a key attacker from a targeted removal spell at minimal cost.

Price Context
Current price
$0.17 bulk tier
At $0.17, Charm Peddler is deep bulk — you're paying for a card slot, not the card. That price is stable; there's no pressure pushing it up, and no reason to expect it to move.
