Charge of the Mites card art
Charge of the Mites puts three 1/1 Mite tokens with toxic 1 onto the battlefield at instant speed — and if a creature you control died this turn, they each enter with a +1/+1 counter. The death trigger condition is trivially met in Phyrexian token shells, and Elesh Norn turns those Mites into a real clock almost immediately.

Elesh Norn

46.0% of decks · synergy 0.44

Elesh Norn's passive anthem makes every Mite created by Charge of the Mites a meaningful threat, and the death-trigger condition is almost always live in a deck that sacrifices its own creatures to fuel proliferate and Phyrexian synergies.

Vishgraz, the Doomhive

Vishgraz, the Doomhive

22.0% of decks · synergy 0.21

Vishgraz, the Doomhive already wants the board flooded with toxic creatures, and Charge of the Mites provides a low-cost instant-speed way to reload after a wipe or sacrifice outlet empties the field.

03
Mondrak, Glory Dominus

Mondrak, Glory Dominus

16.4% of decks · synergy 0.14

Mondrak, Glory Dominus doubles every token Charge of the Mites creates, turning three Mites into six — and at instant speed that doubling can happen on an opponent's end step before Mondrak is removed.

In Commander, Charge of the Mites is a role-player in dedicated Phyrexian and toxic strategies — it won't see play outside those shells, but inside them it earns its slot as cheap instant-speed token production. In Pauper it's legal and worth watching in any aggressive white deck that can meet the death trigger consistently. Modern and Pioneer have enough efficient token generators that Charge of the Mites sits below the competitive threshold unless a dedicated poison deck emerges. Legacy and Vintage are non-starters.

Price Context

Current price

$0.27 bulk tier

At $0.27, Charge of the Mites is firmly bulk — pick up as many as you need without hesitation. Bulk commons tied to a specific tribe rarely spike unless a new commander or precon pushes that archetype into the mainstream, so expect the price to stay in this range.
