Chandra's Spitfire card art
Chandra's Spitfire turns any noncombat damage your opponents take into a one-shot threat — deal three damage once, and it swings for +3 power that turn, stacking per instance. Chandra, Fire of Kaladesh flips into a planeswalker by pinging for one damage twice, which means Spitfire clocks in at 4 power on the same turn the commander transforms, for two mana.

Chandra, Fire of Kaladesh pings opponents to flip into her planeswalker side, and every one of those pings pumps Chandra's Spitfire by +3 — two activations before the flip already puts Spitfire at 7 power on the same turn, making it the most dangerous payoff in the 99.

In Commander, Chandra's Spitfire is a legitimate threat in any red deck that generates frequent noncombat damage — Torbran, Neheb, and Chandra planeswalker builds all trigger it repeatedly in a single turn, and hitting three opponents with a single damage effect stacks the bonus three times. Outside of Commander, it sees fringe play in older formats like Modern and Legacy only in dedicated burn or Chandra-tribal shells, where the ceiling is high but the competition for three-drops is brutal. Pioneer is the format where it has the most plausible niche, specifically in Mono-Red Aggro lists that want a secondary threat behind the direct-damage suite. Across all formats, the card rewards redundancy — one ping is underwhelming, but in a deck engineered to fire multiple times a turn, Chandra's Spitfire closes games by itself.

$0.27 bulk tier

At $0.27, Chandra's Spitfire is pure bulk — you're paying almost nothing for a card with genuine combo upside in the right shell. That price is stable; there's no pressure pushing it higher, so grab copies whenever you're building around noncombat damage rather than hunting for them later.
