Centaur Safeguard trades a body for life or a draw when it dies, stapling a minor death trigger onto a vanilla 3/2 for three mana. The rate is too low for most Commander tables — three mana for a 3/2 with a conditional upside that requires a second color to do anything beyond gaining 3 life is not competitive.

Centaur Safeguard is a bulk common in every format it touches, and the context doesn't improve much by format. In Commander, the life gain mode is irrelevant at 40 life, and drawing one card on death is a consolation prize on a body that will rarely survive to matter. In Pauper, where commons compete on raw efficiency, a 3/2 for three with a fragile trigger doesn't clear the bar — better death-trigger creatures exist at the same cost. Legacy and Vintage are non-starters for a card this underpowered.

Current price
$0.03 bulk tier
At $0.03, Centaur Safeguard is deep bulk — the floor price for a physical Magic card. It holds no financial value and is unlikely to move, so grab it from a bulk bin if you need it and don't think twice.
