Cellar Door card art
Cellar Door converts your opponents' smallest creatures into 2/2 Zombie tokens on your end step — slow, repeatable, and free to activate once it's on board. The three-mana equip cost is real, but Grolnok, the Omnivore and similar frog-tribal or mill-value commanders find it pulls double duty as graveyard seeding and token generation.

Cellar Door is a Commander card through and through — the repeatable end-step trigger compounds over a long game in ways that matter across four players, and mill-adjacent strategies have enough support in the format to make it a legitimate slot. In Legacy and Vintage it's technically legal but competes with engines so much faster that it never sees play. Modern is the same story: the card is too slow and too conditional to earn a spot in any competitive shell. Cellar Door is most at home in a 99-card singleton game where your opponents will reliably have small creatures in their libraries and you have the turns to grind.

$0.12 bulk tier

At $0.12, Cellar Door is pure bulk — pick it up without a second thought if the slot fits. Bulk artifacts with narrow combo applications rarely appreciate, so treat it as a cheap role-player rather than a hold.
