Cavern Stomper lands as a 6/5 trampler for three mana if you've cast a creature spell from outside your hand this turn — that's a legitimate rate that rewards the cascade, foretell, and escape strategies that enable it. The condition is the entire conversation: in decks that don't naturally cast from exile or the graveyard, Cavern Stomper is just an overcosted vanilla.

In Commander, Cavern Stomper belongs in decks built around casting from exile — cascade commanders like Averna, the Chaos Bloom or Yidris, Maelstrom Wielder turn the condition on almost automatically, and a 6/5 trampler for three is a threat those decks are happy to run out. Outside that niche, the floor is a six-mana 6/5 with no built-in protection, which is unplayable in any 100-card context. In Pauper, the condition is harder to meet consistently and a six-mana creature without immediate impact doesn't compete; in Modern and Pioneer, the same problem applies with even less forgiveness on mana efficiency.

$0.11 bulk tier
At $0.11, Cavern Stomper is deep bulk — you're not paying for it, you're finding it in a trade binder. Bulk commons with narrow conditions don't appreciate, so pick it up for a cascade or exile-matters build and treat the cost as zero.
