Carrion Wurm is a 6/6 trample for five mana that shrinks every time a creature enters an opponent's graveyard — a liability that compounds fast in any multiplayer game. The body is serviceable but the drawback is real enough that dedicated graveyard decks will outpace it before you get full value.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t
| Format | Verdict |

| legacy | legal |
| modern | not legal |
| pioneer | not legal |
| standard | not legal |
| vintage | legal |
| pauper | not legal |
| oathbreaker | legal |
In Commander, Carrion Wurm sits at the fringe of graveyard-matters builds — it punishes opponents running reanimation or self-mill, but in a four-player game that restriction erodes quickly and the Wurm shrinks itself out of relevance. Legacy and Vintage are the only other formats where it's legal, and neither has ever found use for it; five mana for a conditional beater doesn't compete at those power levels. Outside of a very narrow shell built to prevent opposing graveyard fills, Carrion Wurm is a novelty in every format it touches.
