Caprichrome is a 3/3 artifact creature for three mana that taps to add one mana of any color, making it both a beater and a mana rock in one slot. The rate is honest without being broken — run it when your deck needs both bodies and fixing, cut it when you need dedicated ramp that doesn't die to creature removal.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t
| Format | Verdict |
|---|---|
| commander | legal |
| legacy | legal |
| modern | legal |
| pioneer | not legal |
| standard | not legal |
| vintage | legal |
| pauper | not legal |
| oathbreaker | legal |
Commander is where Caprichrome earns its keep — artifact synergy decks and multicolor goodstuff shells both want a body that doubles as a Manalith, and the three-mana slot is competitive enough that the flexibility justifies the inclusion. In Legacy and Vintage, Caprichrome doesn't clear the bar; those formats have access to mana acceleration that laps it on efficiency, and a 3/3 with a tap ability won't survive long enough to matter. Modern is technically legal but practically the same story — there are simply better things to do at three mana. Stick to Commander and Oathbreaker, where a card doing two jobs at once is genuinely rewarded.

Price Context
Current price
$0.10 bulk tier
At $0.10, Caprichrome is deep bulk — you're not paying for power, you're paying for convenience. The price is stable by default: bulk artifacts with moderate utility rarely spike, so grab a copy without concern and don't expect it to move in either direction.
