Caldaia Guardian puts a free 3/4 trampler on the board the turn you need it most — the cost is just two creatures you were likely sacrificing anyway. It exists almost entirely to fuel Hogaak, Arisen Necropolis, and outside that shell it has almost no home.

Caldaia Guardian is a narrow card in every legal format. In Commander, it slots into graveyard-heavy sacrifice decks where convoke and delve overlap — Hogaak shells, Meren of Clan Nel Toth, or Karador, Ghost Chieftain builds that want cheap high-power bodies. Legacy and Vintage are the only constructed formats where it's legal, and it sees no play in either — the convoke cost is real and the payoff isn't close to what those formats demand. Stick to Commander graveyard synergy decks; anywhere else, Caldaia Guardian is just a vanilla 3/4.
