Cabal Slaver forces any opponent who loses a creature to their graveyard to discard a card — repeatable hand disruption stapled to a 2/2 body for three mana. The effect is real in the right shell, but three mana for a 2/2 with no immediate impact means Cabal Slaver earns its slot only when you're killing creatures constantly.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t
| Format | Verdict |

| modern | not legal |
| pioneer | not legal |
| standard | not legal |
| vintage | legal |
| pauper | not legal |
| oathbreaker | legal |
Cabal Slaver is a Commander card through and through — the multiplayer environment means three opponents each losing cards to a single trigger swings card-advantage math in your favor fast. In a dedicated sacrifice or reanimator shell, it can strip multiple hands to empty within a few turns. Legacy and Vintage are legal but uninterested; three mana for a conditional discard effect is nowhere near the power bar those formats demand. Oathbreaker is a reasonable home if your planeswalker supports a sacrifice theme, but the smaller starting hand size makes the effect less punishing than in Commander.

Price Context
Current price
$0.24 bulk tier
At $0.24, Cabal Slaver is deep bulk — you're paying almost nothing for a niche but genuinely functional effect. It's unlikely to appreciate unless a high-profile sacrifice commander pushes it into broader circulation, so treat it as a cheap pickup for a specific deck rather than a spec.
