Cabal Executioner card art
Cabal Executioner forces a sacrifice every time it deals combat damage to a player — repeatable, evasion-dependent removal stapled to a creature. The cost is real: five mana for a 2/2 with no built-in evasion means it often trades for nothing unless you're engineering attacks.

Format Analysis

Where it lives, where it can’t

FormatVerdict

Commander is the only competitive home for Cabal Executioner. In a multiplayer format where opponents stockpile creatures and sacrifice synergies are a whole archetype, the repeated trigger has genuine value — especially in aristocrats shells or alongside Thantis, the Warweaver-style forced-combat strategies where damage landing is guaranteed. Legacy and Vintage are legal but irrelevant; a five-mana 2/2 with no immediate board impact doesn't come close to the efficiency bar in those formats. Outside of Commander, Cabal Executioner is a non-factor.

Price Context

Current price

$0.23 bulk tier

At $0.23, Cabal Executioner is deep bulk — a pickup that costs less than shipping if you're buying singles anyway. That price is stable by nature; this isn't a card that spikes, but it also won't drop further, so grab it whenever it fits a build without a second thought.
