Buy Your Silence exiles a nonland permanent and replaces it with a Treasure for its controller — permanent removal that softens the political sting at the cost of six mana. That price tag is the whole problem: six mana for a sorcery-speed exile is a steep ask in any format where four-mana removal already feels slow.

In Commander, Buy Your Silence occupies an awkward tier — unconditional exile on any nonland permanent is genuinely powerful, but six mana at sorcery speed means you're spending your entire turn to answer one threat. The Treasure cushion reduces blowback at a multiplayer table, which has real political value, but most Commander decks that need this effect can find it cheaper. In Pauper, unconditional exile at common is rare enough that Buy Your Silence sees occasional play despite the cost, particularly in slower control shells. In Modern, Legacy, and Vintage, six-mana sorceries that don't win the game on the spot simply don't compete.

Price Context
Current price
$0.05 bulk tier
At $0.05, Buy Your Silence is deep bulk — you're paying for cardboard, not card value. That price is stable because demand is low and supply from draft chaff is high; don't expect movement in either direction.
