Burrowing Razormaw card art
Burrowing Razormaw enters and permanently reassigns a +1/+1 counter from any creature you control to any other creature you control — no tap, no mana, just a free redistribution on an evasive 2/1 body. Two mana for that effect is a real rate, and in any deck that cares about counter placement, it earns its slot.

In Commander, Burrowing Razormaw fits cleanly into Simic or Golgari decks built around +1/+1 counter synergies — Jinnie Fay, Jetmir's Second or Skullbriar, the Walking Grave both use the redistribution effect well. Outside Commander, Burrowing Razormaw is legal in Pauper, where two-mana creatures live or die by their rate, and moving a counter for free on ETB is genuinely useful in counter-heavy commons shells. Modern and Pioneer have higher bars, and a 2/1 for two with no immediate board protection rarely makes the cut in those formats without a dedicated combo setup.

Price Context

Current price

$0.04 bulk tier

At $0.04, Burrowing Razormaw is deep bulk — you're picking up a playset for less than a dollar. Bulk rares with narrow synergy applications rarely climb unless they land in a breakout deck, so treat this as a cheap include for the effect, not a spec.
