Burn Trail deals 3 damage to any target and then connives, letting you draw and filter in the same motion as the damage lands. Four mana is a real cost, but the connive makes Burn Trail pull double duty in decks that want bodies in the graveyard or simply can't afford dead topdecks.
Format Analysis

In Commander, Burn Trail sits at the low end of playability — 3 damage doesn't threaten players at 40 life, so it's almost exclusively a creature-removal spell that replaces itself, and plenty of creatures you need to answer have more than 3 toughness. Pauper is where Burn Trail gets the most honest look, since common-legal card selection is scarce and the combination of removal plus looting on one card has genuine value in tempo and control shells. In Legacy, Modern, and Vintage, the competition at four mana is brutal and Burn Trail won't make cuts. Treat it as a Pauper role-player and a Commander afterthought unless your deck specifically rewards both the graveyard fill and the damage clause.

Price Context
Current price
$0.09 bulk tier
At $0.09, Burn Trail is deep bulk — you're paying for cardboard, not the card. That price is stable by definition; bulk commons don't crater further, but there's no catalyst to move it either.
