Buried Treasure enters the battlefield and immediately cracks for one mana of any color — no waiting, no hoops. Two mana for a single Treasure is a bad rate, and that's the ceiling here.

In Commander, Buried Treasure competes for a slot against Arcane Signet, Talisman effects, and two-mana rocks that stick around — and it loses that competition cleanly. The one-time mana burst has niche appeal in storm or spell-chaining decks that want colored mana now rather than a permanent source, but most lists have better options at the same cost. In Pauper, the Treasure token can feed artifact-synergy shells, and the common print means it's accessible, though still outclassed by more efficient cantrip-ramp. Across Legacy, Vintage, and competitive non-rotating formats, Buried Treasure is simply too slow and too low-impact to register.

Price Context
Current price
$0.25 bulk tier
At $0.25, Buried Treasure is deep bulk — you're paying for cardboard, not power. There's nothing in its text box that pressures that price upward, so don't expect it to move.
