Bullwhip lets you tap a creature and deal 1 damage to it every turn for four mana — repeatable pseudo-removal that also blocks regeneration and forced-attack tricks. The cost is steep: four mana to activate once per turn is too slow for most Commander tables, and one damage rarely kills anything worth targeting.

Bullwhip is legal in Commander, Legacy, Vintage, and Oathbreaker, but it's realistically a Commander-only card — Legacy and Vintage have no interest in a four-mana artifact that deals 1 damage. In Commander, Bullwhip occupies a narrow niche: decks that specifically want repeatable tap effects or that combo off any damage source can justify the activation cost, but in a vacuum it's too slow and too low-impact to compete with purpose-built removal or stax pieces. Oathbreaker theoretically inherits the same narrow use case, shrunk to a smaller game state where the cost feels even heavier.

Price Context
Current price
$0.19 bulk tier
At $0.19, Bullwhip is deep bulk — acquire it out of a bulk box if a specific build calls for it, but don't pay more. Demand is narrow enough that this price is stable, not a deal waiting to expire.
