Bulette is a 4/3 trampler for five mana with no enters-the-battlefield effect, no evasion beyond trample, and no upside beyond its creature type — the stats are simply too far below rate to justify the slot. Run it if you need a Landworm for tribal synergy; otherwise, there are better five-drops in every format.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t
| Format | Verdict |
|---|---|
| commander | legal |
| legacy | legal |
| modern | legal |
| pioneer | legal |
| standard | not legal |
| vintage | legal |
| pauper | legal |
| oathbreaker | legal |
Bulette is legal across Commander, Legacy, Modern, Pioneer, Vintage, Pauper, and Oathbreaker, but that breadth doesn't translate to relevance. In Commander it sees fringe play exclusively in Landworm or beast tribal builds where the type line does work that the body cannot. In competitive 60-card formats a 4/3 trample for five is unplayable — the bar is simply too high. Pauper is the one format where Bulette could theoretically dodge scrutiny on rate, but even there the slot is crowded with more efficient threats.

Price Context
Current price
$0.06 bulk tier
At $0.06, Bulette is deep bulk — the kind of card that fills out a trade binder without moving it. There's no meaningful demand driver that would push this above bulk pricing, so don't expect the value to move.
