Broodwarden enters the battlefield and immediately pumps every Insect, Spider, and Worm you control — no hoops, no activation cost, just a static +1/+1 anthem on a 3/4 body for five mana. It's a payoff card for creature-type tribal builds that happen to overlap in the Jund color wedge, and in those decks it earns its slot cleanly.

Broodwarden is a Commander card — full stop. The five-mana slot is too slow and too narrow for Legacy, Modern, or Vintage, where tribal anthems need to cost two or three mana and affect broader creature types to compete. In Commander, Broodwarden finds a real home in Insect-tribal builds like Grist, the Hunger Tide or Spider-tribal lists under Ishkanah, Grafwidow, where the anthem applies to a critical mass of creatures and the 3/4 body isn't embarrassing as a blocker. Outside of those specific tribal shells, it's a do-nothing five-drop.

Price Context
Current price
$0.21 bulk tier
At $0.21, Broodwarden is deep bulk — the price of a card that sees narrow play and exists in high supply. It won't appreciate unless a future set prints enough pushed Insects, Spiders, or Worms to make the tribal shell competitively relevant, so grab it for pennies when you need it and don't expect the price to move.
