Bringer of the Green Dawn card art
Bringer of the Green Dawn lands and immediately puts a 3/3 Beast into play at the start of every one of your upkeeps — that's a repeating threat engine stapled to a 5/5 body for nine mana, or five with any color of mana. In token-doubling shells like Esix, Fractal Bloom, that upkeep trigger stops being a token and starts being a copy of whatever you need most.

Bringer of the Green Dawn is a Commander card through and through — the format's slower clock and token synergies are exactly where a nine-mana 5/5 with an upkeep trigger earns its keep. In Legacy and Vintage it's technically legal but laughably unplayable; those formats kill you before you untap with it, and Sneak Attack lines do the big-creature thing faster and for less. Modern is the same story: too slow, no protection, no immediate impact beyond a vanilla body the turn it arrives. Stick to Commander, where the Beast token compounds over multiple turns and your opponents are more likely to be threatening lifegain or combo than racing you to turn three.

Price Context

Current price

$1.42 cheap tier

At $1.42, Bringer of the Green Dawn sits in pure bulk territory — you're buying it for the effect, not paying a premium for it. Demand is niche enough that the price is unlikely to spike without a reprint or a breakout Commander build pushing it into wider circulation.
