Brinebarrow Intruder enters the battlefield and forces your opponents to tap down — a flash, one-mana 1/1 that can blank an attack or protect a combo piece at instant speed. The effect is narrow and the body is negligible, so it earns a slot only in decks that specifically reward entering-the-battlefield triggers or care about tapping opponents' creatures.

In Commander, Brinebarrow Intruder finds a real home in tap-synergy and flicker shells — anything running Seedborn Muse lines or wanting cheap bodies to blink. The flash timing is the card's best feature: one mana to tap a blocker or disrupt an alpha strike without spending your whole turn is genuinely useful, even if the effect isn't permanent. In Pauper, the common slot is contested and the tap effect rarely buys enough tempo to matter outside dedicated flicker builds. In Modern, Pioneer, Legacy, and Vintage, Brinebarrow Intruder is simply outclassed — one-mana interaction at those power levels needs to do more than tap a single creature.

$0.18 bulk tier
At $0.18, Brinebarrow Intruder is deep bulk — you're not paying for the card, you're paying for the shipping. It's unlikely to appreciate unless a future Commander precon or set pushes tap-synergy into the mainstream, so grab a copy if you need one and don't think twice about the cost.
