Brazen Blademaster card art
Brazen Blademaster enters as a 2/3, then pumps every other attacking creature you control — that's a meaningful board-wide buff stapled to a three-mana body. The cost is that the effect only applies while it's in the red zone, so it does nothing on defense and dies to any incidental removal before it swings.

In Commander, Brazen Blademaster earns its slot in wide-board, combat-focused decks — any archetype that regularly swings with five or more creatures will feel the pump, and three mana is an acceptable rate for that ceiling. Competitive formats like Modern and Pioneer have no use for it; a conditional lord that requires you to attack and dies to Lightning Bolt is miles behind the available three-drops in any aggressive shell. In Pauper, the commons-only card pool makes it more competitive on rate, but aggressive red decks there still prefer haste threats and direct damage over a tap-to-attack buff. Standard is the one constructed format where Brazen Blademaster could see fringe play if an attack-trigger synergy deck emerges, though it would need significant support to be worth the slot.

Price Context

Current price

$0.09 bulk tier

At $0.09, Brazen Blademaster is deep bulk — pick it up for essentially nothing if the archetype calls for it. Bulk commons and uncommons at this price point don't hold or gain value, so there's no reason to acquire copies beyond immediate playability.
